Started in 1926 as Ramakrishna Vivekananda Sevashrama, the centre was made a branch of Ramakrishna Mission in July 2003.
Activities :
- A charitable eye hospital with 20 beds, which treated 14,213 cases and operated 223 cataract patients. Eye-camps in and outside the hospital (246 cataract operations were done).
- Three charitable homoeopathic dispensaries, which treated 19,003 patients.
- A charitable allopathic dispensary, which treated 6246 patients during the year.
- A library with 2000 books and 13 periodicals and dailies.
- A non-formal education centre with 50 students.
- Flood Relief, Medical Relief and Welfare work.
- Religious activities : Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and other religious celebrities, as also festivals like Kali Puja.
